Lithuanian pop superstar Jazzu unveiled her new single ‘Razor Blade’ on 18 October via the Creative Industries imprint. As a world-renowned singer-songwriter, Jazzu has over 50 million streams across platforms and opened for Rita Ora earlier this year in Lithuania. She’s also the recipient of numerous awards including an MTV Award. As a judge on Lithuanian X-Factor, she shares her knowledge and expertise from her two decade career with burgeoning musicians. 

‘Razor Blade’ showcases Jazzu’s formidable power as a vocalist and lyricist. The single delves into a story of emotional turmoil, heartbreak and the internal transformation that takes place after such a tumultuous experience. Jazzu shares: “When I sing this song, it’s like a ceremony for me – I sing all my pain away, acknowledging that I’m strong enough to always choose me and keep my heart safe. I’ll never let anybody hurt it again.”

Jazzu collaborated with revered London-based producer Anthony Marshall who’s worked with the likes of Britney Spears and Nelly Furtado. The high octane track is a fusion of R&B and pop, featuring commanding drums which create an unshakeable foreboding atmosphere, a robust yet steady beat and Jazzu’s colossal vocals bursting with emotion. The accompanying music video sees Jazzu donned in dark makeup, wearing all black with minimal lighting, creating an atmosphere of grief, heartbreak and ultimately transformation. In the video, Jazzu is seen running around an empty apartment building trying to find her way out, which is mirrored by aerial shots of her in a maze trying to get out, both of which allude to being stuck in a toxic cycle and not having the ability to let go.
