Quavo Sets October 2nd for QRÖMELIFE, Shares T.I. Single ‘Backwards’

Quavo is gearing up to drop his third studio album, QRÖMELIFE, on October 2, signaling a bold return to solo artistry after 2023’s Rocket Power. With Pharrell Williams at the helm as executive producer for Quality Control and Motown, the GRAMMY-nominated Atlanta star sharpens his imprint on modern hip-hop, threading his signature triplet flows, razor-sharp ad-libs, and lush trap melodies throughout. The album’s creation spanned from the sleek halls of Louis Vuitton’s Paris headquarters to recording sessions on open water, with Williams, who also heads LV’s menswear, steering the project’s creative vision.

The new single ‘Backwards’, featuring T.I., arrived alongside the album announcement after a live debut at WWE’s Sunday Night Main Event. Rooted firmly in Atlanta from its opening lines “ATLA, ATL, Atlanta/Middle of the trap, you see a Phantom”, the track trades verses that capture the city’s nightlife and swagger.

Earlier teasers hinted at the album’s sonic range: ‘HAAVIN’ opened Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Show in Paris, fusing shimmering synths with sub-heavy drums and Quavo’s signature ad-lib barrage. ‘Trance (Walk It Down)’ rides on weighty 808s, kinetic hi-hats, and crisp snare-clap interplay, interpolating Shannon’s 1983 classic ‘Let the Music Play’ as Quavo draws a dancer into the narrative. The remaining eleven tracks are yet to be revealed.

Quavo had this to say: “Working with Pharrell means you need to be versatile- a sound bender, a wave creator and a trend setter. He levels you up.
