John Legend Shares Official Video for ‘Daylight’

The official video for ‘Daylight’ has arrived, introducing the first visual from John Legend’s forthcoming album Muse, set for release October 23 on Republic Records. Legend, an EGOT recipient and 13-time Grammy winner whose discography spans from Get Lifted to Legend and My Favorite Dream, crafted the new project in close collaboration with producer Pharrell Williams.

Despite a friendship spanning twenty years, the two had never finished a full record together until now. Williams not only produced and co-wrote every track but also features on six songs, with Clipse making a guest appearance. ‘Daylight’ places Legend’s soulful vocals atop a sleek backbeat, subtle keys, and carefully woven horn and string melodies.

Samm Henshaw and Wayne Hector also contributed to the songwriting. In Paul Hunter’s direction, the video finds Legend at his piano in a dimly lit rehearsal space, while dancers sweep through striking, high-contrast choreography. The song itself is a clear-eyed love promise: a request for affection, a heartbeat shared, and the warmth of daylight that lingers long after sunrise.
