THR333.wav Are Back and Their New Single ‘CUT333’ Comes With Y2K Aesthetics, and VISUALIZER

THR333.wav, the New York-based collective composed of amir., SADBOYMUSIC, and YawnyBlew, return with their latest single ‘CUT333’, released today as the second preview from their forthcoming EP 333, out March 31. Known for their meticulously crafted dystopian pop soundscapes, the group explores a fictional world where creativity is reduced to office labor and the machinery of pop stardom runs on autopilot. Through polished production and surreal office-inspired visuals, THR333.wav examines themes of control, identity, and the relentless pressure to perform within unsupportive systems.

‘CUT333’ pulls the same high-voltage energy that defined projects such as ‘Gnarly’ and ‘Midnight Sun’ and channels it through a mix of vibrant Y2K dayglow surfaces, drum and bass progression, and K-pop’s characteristic of intricate details. THR333 have also released a visualizer for the track. It sets the tone with a pop-soaked intro and vintage television iconography using grainy effects and VHS recordings. Variations of the group’s logos appear against nostalgic visuals of retro office spaces and technology. Jessica Rabbit appears during parts of the song where the lyrics mention turning heads and feeling “cute”. During the dance break, scenes of Ballroom culture highlight how confidence drives the performance. The visualizer ends with Jessica Rabbit‘s slow strut, turning heads in the room, referencing the famous scene from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”.

With ‘CUT333’, THR333.wav focuses on the key moment when the system in their story falls apart, marking an important part of their ongoing narrative. Each new release reveals more of their dystopian world. Fans who buy the Bandcamp edition get the track and special extras that show more of the story the group is creating.

THR333.wav had this to say: “With ‘CUT333,’ we wanted to capture that moment when the illusion breaks. You realize the perfection you’re sold is just a factory preset. Then you decide to take the power back.
