Beyoncé Maps Out the 27-Track B’Day 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition
Beyoncé is set to mark the twentieth anniversary of her landmark sophomore album with the release of the B’Day 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, arriving September 4. Originally released in 2006, B’Day debuted atop the Billboard 200, achieved five-times platinum certification from the RIAA, and secured the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album, propelled by a run of singles that bridged taut R&B rhythms and mainstream pop appeal.
When B’Day dropped in September 2006, it cemented Beyoncé’s status as a powerhouse who would rule radio, clubs, and award shows alike. The album soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling over 540,000 copies in a single week even as CD sales were on the decline, and its singles echoed across every corner of pop culture. With tracks like ‘Déjà Vu’ and ‘Ring the Alarm,’ Beyoncé unveiled a bolder, more commanding sound than her Dangerously in Love days, while ‘Irreplaceable’ reigned at No. 1 for ten weeks and turned “to the left” into a cultural catchphrase.
B’Day’s vibrant live-band R&B, infectious go-go beats, and unforgettable choruses spilled over into her performances and style, leaving their mark on BET, the VMAs, the AMAs, Dreamgirls premieres, and House of Deréon fashion. The B’Day Anthology Video Album, shot in just two weeks and released in 2007, offered a visual feast that paved the way for the visual-album revolution Beyoncé would later lead. B’Day was the moment her solo career transformed from a promising start into a creative empire, built on music, visuals, live energy, and an unbreakable vision.
The deluxe edition arrives as a four-LP set pressed on heavyweight 180-gram Bayou Blue vinyl, accompanied by a 60-page commemorative booklet and two collectible prints, retailing at $149.98.
