Just days after the unexpected September 11 arrival of Westside Whimsy, Jhené Aiko has unveiled the album’s first official music video, ‘Nothing Nice to Say.’ This marks her fourth studio album and her first full-length project since 2020’s platinum-selling Chilombo, which soared to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and earned her a coveted Album of the Year Grammy nod. Now, as a seven-time Grammy nominee with ArtClub and Def Jam, Aiko is poised to climb the charts again, with her latest LP already drawing a wave of early critical acclaim.

Produced by Fisticuffs, ‘Nothing Nice to Say’ finds its groove in the album’s midtempo flow, framing heartbreak as something to let go of rather than battle. Aiko’s lyrics, “So I been being quiet / Cuz I’ve had nothing nice to say / Been sitting here in silence / While you keep playing in my face,” set the tone before she drifts into scenes of late-night red wine, scribbled thoughts in a notebook, and the gentle mantra, “Gotta let this fade away.” Fans have connected the song to her former partner, rapper Big Sean, following the end of their nearly decade-long relationship in 2025.
