Prince Kaybee Links With Ben September on New Single ‘Veliry’
Prince Kaybee has unveiled ‘Veliry’, his latest single with Ben September, released on 21 August through PLAYY. Records. As a South African Afro-house DJ, producer and television personality, he has evolved from his Universal Music South Africa days to become a bridge between the genre’s African roots and a worldwide audience. His previous PLAYY. Records release, ‘Heno Babayo’, captured international attention with MIXMAG features across Europe and the Americas, shoutouts from YourEDM.com and House Music With Love, airplay on KISS XTRA’s The Afro Electronic Show with Larizzle, local coverage in IOL and Music In Africa, and spins on Metro FM, YFM and Good Hope FM.
Kabelo Motsamai, known as Prince Kaybee, once dreamed of a soccer career with Bloemfontein Celtic, but a knee injury changed his course. Guided by his father’s collection of African classics and traditional jazz, he found his calling in music production. Ben September, the Sasolburg-born singer-songwriter, blends alternative R&B, Afro-pop and soul, first gaining recognition through collaborations with Prince Kaybee, Tyler ICU and The Big Hash. Inspired by artists like Brent Faiyaz and Daniel Caesar, he crafts songs that explore love, vulnerability and self-discovery.
‘Veliry’ opens with a gentle, flowing guitar that creates a sunlit, organic atmosphere before the Afro-house rhythm takes hold. Ben September’s smooth vocals glide through the track, bringing both intimacy and elevation. Lush percussion, delicate melodies and airy instrumentation keep the soundscape spacious and the momentum growing.
Prince Kaybee shared: “This song is inspired by a beautiful lady named Veliry. She reminds me of a beautiful day of harmonic love songs.”
