AFROTRAX Release Radar: YoungstaCPT

Want to get familiar with the artists performing at AFROTRAX? We’ve curated a Spotify playlist featuring music from across the lineup, giving you the perfect opportunity to discover new tracks, revisit your favourites and get ready for the December festivities.

With AFROTRAX approaching on 4 December, we’re turning our attention to the music of YoungstaCPT. The Cape Town rapper continues to put his hometown at the centre of his work with Worldwide Wynberg (Mixtape 36), a project bringing together local stories, distinctive lyricism and collaborations rooted in his creative world.

For this edition of AFROTRAX RELEASE RADAR, we’re highlighting three tracks from the project: ‘OXY?GEN’, ‘WILDBERG’ featuring Crosby Bolani, and ‘BEST BEFORE’ featuring DJ Ready D.

Produced by Cartune Beatz, ‘OXY?GEN’ forms part of the wider project. ‘WILDBERG’ features Crosby Bolani, with its music video filmed in Wynberg, Cape Town, placing the neighbourhood at the centre of the visual story. Meanwhile, ‘BEST BEFORE’ features South African DJ and hip-hop pioneer DJ Ready D, bringing another collaboration to a project that connects different voices within the local music scene.

The YoungstaCPT – Worldwide Wynberg album was released on 31 July 2026. Together, these tracks offer a starting point for listeners looking to explore YoungstaCPT’s music and the stories behind it ahead of his AFROTRAX performance.

Listen to YoungstaCPT’s latest music, explore the sound of other artists on the bill, and start building your AFROTRAX soundtrack.

Catch YoungstaCPT at AFROTRAX on Friday, 4 December 2026, at The Ostrich Farm, Cape Town, alongside French Montana, B.o.B, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, 25K, Jairic, Rarri, Kane (DJ) and Bassik.
