Countdown to AFROTRAX: Artist Spotlight – KANE DJ

KANE (DJ) joins the AFROTRAX lineup at Cape Town’s The Ostrich Farm on 4 December 2026. The Cape Town-based DJ, model and curator has built his reputation through a distinctive blend of old-school and contemporary hip-hop, R&B and amapiano. Known for reworking familiar tracks with modern sounds, KANE brings a versatile approach to his sets, drawing on different eras of music to create engaging dancefloor experiences.

KANE has developed his career across Cape Town’s music and entertainment scene, establishing himself through DJ performances, radio and event curation. His mixing style combines classic hip-hop and R&B with contemporary releases, reflecting his interest in connecting different generations of music. In 2023, he reached two significant career milestones, making his debut at Rocking the Daisies and securing a residency on Good Hope FM. These achievements marked an important period in his career, expanding his presence across both festival stages and radio.

Beyond his DJ career, KANE founded THE KAVE, a Cape Town-based creative platform dedicated to supporting emerging and underrepresented artists. Developed alongside creative director Jesse Jewels, the initiative creates opportunities for musicians and visual artists to showcase their work, connect with audiences and expand their professional networks. Through projects such as the Visual Architects Initiative, THE KAVE has collaborated with local creatives, including graffiti artist Malay 764, who redesigned the platform’s logo and created artwork for its third event. The project reflects KANE’s commitment to developing spaces where artists can explore their creativity beyond conventional industry expectations.

AFROTRAX brings KANE (DJ) to The Ostrich Farm on 4 December, where he joins French Montana, B.o.B, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, YoungstaCPT, Blxckie, 25K, Jairic, Rarri and Bassik for a major celebration of local and international hip-hop.

With a career spanning festival performances, radio and creative event production, KANE continues to build his presence within Cape Town’s music scene. From his Rocking the Daisies debut and Good Hope FM residency to establishing THE KAVE, his journey reflects a commitment to both DJing and creating opportunities for local talent. Bringing his signature blend of hip-hop and R&B to the festival, KANE adds another dimension to the AFROTRAX lineup. Catch him live at AFROTRAX this December and secure your tickets through PLAYY.
