Kansah Releases ‘Sexy,’ His Latest Afrobeats-to-Afro House Fusion Single
On May 29, UK-based artist Kansah released ‘Sexy’, a new addition to a catalogue defined by its stylistic breadth. Known for fusing rap, grime, Afrobeats, amapiano, and club music, Kansah’s release moves fluidly between melodic tracks, hard-hitting rap, and dancefloor-driven cuts. He has showcased this versatility live at the Afro Industry Concert in London, headlining Afrofest Festival 2025 in Bristol, and performing alongside Dappy, Jay1, Fido, and S1mba.
‘Sexy’ is crafted for festival stages, packed clubs, and late-night summer playlists. The track weaves Afrobeats, Afro-pop, Afro house, UK rap, R&B, and dance-focused production into a cohesive, high-energy track that channels Kansah’s signature feel-good sensibility. Driven by infectious rhythms and melodic hooks, the song was written in Los Angeles and recorded between the USA and UK. Initially conceived as a straightforward Afrobeats track with a deeper male chorus, it was later reimagined as a club-ready Afro house fusion, amplifying its sense of movement and summer energy.
This summer, Kansah brings ‘Sexy’ to audiences across the UK, Spain, and Kenya. His first international appearance will see him share the stage with Congolese Afro icon Awilo Longomba and Afrobrunch, followed by a major Nairobi show alongside Cassidy and leading East African artists. Previous collaborations with Dr Chaii and DJ Boat have approached three million Spotify streams, while music video on Trace Africa and MTV have expanded his reach. With more singles on the horizon ahead of a full album, ‘Sexy’ delivers as promised: smooth vocals, a driving summer pulse, and a dancefloor energy designed to unite listeners.
Kansah had this to say: “I wanted to create something sexy for summer and festivals/clubs. What better than write a track called ‘Sexy’. Originally the track had a deeper male vocal on the chorus and was more of a pure Afrobeats track, however it was completely stripped back and reproduced to fit into an Afro house fusion sound for a more sexy festival feel.”
