Sibb Unveils Compelling New Music Video for ‘Alright’
Sibb, the project led by Kamau Romano, released the official music video for his single ‘Alright‘ on May 19, 2026. The soulful ballad, taken from his debut EP Delusion, follows two years of steady live performances across Germany, including sets at Fusion Festival and Kantine am Berghain. Romano, who originally trained as an engineer, shifted his focus to music after recieving mentorship with Trinidadian jazz musician Vaughnette Bigford. Under the name Sibb, an acronym for ‘simple black boy’, he defines his identity and vision for his artistry. Now signed to Embassy of Music, home to artists like Robyn and Björk, Sibb maintains a commitment to polished production and visual storytelling.
‘Alright‘ sits within the thematic arc ‘Act I – Hyperromanticism,’ acting as a moral counterpoint to the intense longing present in Sibb‘s earlier material. Instead of pursuing temptation, the track dwells on the nuances of resisting infidelity. Its structure references 1990s ballads, recalling the fluid arrangements of artists like Lianne La Havas.
The video continues the narrative from ‘Mine,’ but fearlessly shifts the visual tone. The once ‘danger red’ world dissolves into a landscape bathed in a ‘vulnerable blue.’ Sibb, adorned in white with pearls and diamonds, turning into the embodiment of ‘truth’. He glides through blue-lit corridors and steps onto a city rooftop, each scene reflecting the tranquil, sobering clarity. While the video invites interpretations of its symbolism, it is the muted tones and carefully chosen color palette that unify Sibb’s artistry. From the somber instrumentals to the glistening eyes in his understated yet powerful performance, the colors weave everything together, proving that sometimes, less truly is more.
Sibb had this to say: “‘Alright‘ tells the story of a person reflecting on being pursued by someone who offered to cheat on their partner with them and rejecting this offer for the sake of morality. The character sings of insecurity in their decision.”
