J Dilla Beats Power Busta Rhymes’ Dillagence II as ‘This Woman’ Video Lands With D’Angelo

Busta Rhymes released Dillagence II on August 25, 2026 through The Conglomerate, a 19-track album built from more than 300 unreleased beats J Dilla passed to him before the producer’s death in 2006. The Brooklyn-born MC, originally of Leaders of the New School, launched his solo run with the 1996 platinum set The Coming and the hit ‘Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check’. Across albums including When Disaster Strikes and the chart-topping The Big Bang, he collected 12 Grammy nominations while pairing dense internal rhyme with videos frequently directed by Hype Williams. The new record follows 2023’s Blockbusta and extends the 2007 mixtape Dillagence, with approval from J Dilla’s estate and his mother Ma Dukes, who appears on the intro and outro.

The album’s guest list spans D’Angelo, Lil Wayne, Common, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak, Ludacris, Jon Batiste, Talib Kweli, T3, Honey Bxby and La Reezy. On ‘This Woman’, Busta Rhymes revives an unfinished J Dilla and D’Angelo session from two decades ago, weaving D’Angelo’s falsetto into the hook and layering it with an interpolation of Sister Nancy’s ‘Bam Bam’, set against off-kilter drums, pointed guitar work and marimba textures. The track’s Hype Williams-directed video premiered alongside the album.
