Ice Spice and Lil Yachty Split the Beat on ‘Out My Face (My Baby)’

Ice Spice and Lil Yachty released ‘Out My Face (My Baby)’ on August 28 through 10K Projects/Capitol Records. Ice Spice, a native of the Bronx who first gained attention with her sharp, deadpan drill tracks on TikTok, has since received four Grammy nominations and was awarded MTV’s VMA for Best New Artist in 2024; her debut album, Y2K!, came out in the same year, with notable highlights including the SpongeBob soundtrack hit ‘Big Guy’ and her intense collaboration with Tokischa on ‘Thootie’. After his 2023 solo album ‘Let’s Start Here’, Lil Yachty worked with James Blake on the 2024 project Bad Cameo and this summer teamed up with FKA twigs on ‘On Your Mind’.

This two-part track, crafted by Cardo Got Wings and Da Kids, kicks off with a restless loop and a moody minor-key riff, setting a shadowy stage for Ice Spice to fire off quick, razor-sharp bars about cash, boundaries, and shutting down the noise. Her chorus lands like a punch: a blunt, repeated command to “get out my face.” Halfway through, the beat melts into a slower, looser groove for Lil Yachty, who glides in with casual flexes and a bold call for loyalty as permanent as a face tattoo. The video, co-directed by AMD and Little Miles, mirrors this split: first, Ice Spice struts through boardwalk cutouts, surrounded by masks of her own face and a flash of a pregnant belly, then the scene shifts to a neon-lit diner packed with cameos from Karrahboo, Concrete Boys, Gio, and Che Mario.

The single arrives as Ice Spice keeps the momentum going with fresh tracks ahead of her rumored Rosadita project, while Lil Yachty continues to blur the lines between rap and his ever-expanding creative universe.
