Queer singer, songwriter, and producer vincethealien has released his latest single, FORGIVENESS,” a deeply personal alternative pop track that revisits a song first written nearly a decade ago. Originally penned in 2016, the release transforms an intimate reflection on identity, shame, and rejection into a meditation on healing and self-acceptance.

Built around a slow-burning, cinematic soundscape, “FORGIVENESS” pairs vulnerable vocals with layered instrumentation that gradually expands in scope. The track explores the emotional distance between past and present, capturing how time can reshape difficult experiences without erasing them.

“I first began writing this in 2016 while trying to process shame, rejection, and fear around my identity,” vincethealien said. “When I came back to it years later, I realised how much had shifted. There had been healing in my life, especially within my family, and the shame I once carried didn’t define me in the same way anymore.”

The final version of “FORGIVENESS” was completed with French producer MOTTRON, marking the duo’s second collaboration following their 2025 single “TENDERNESS.” Together, they reimagined the original demo into a sweeping, atmospheric production that mirrors the complexities of emotional growth and reconciliation.

Released on June 26, the track stands as one of vincethealien’s most introspective works to date, exploring the idea that forgiveness is an ongoing process rather than a single act. “Forgiveness, for me, is not a single moment,” the artist said. “It’s something I’ve had to learn and relearn over time.”
